2012-13 USTA Junior Teams
New Changes for USTA Junior Teams at WRC
While WRC continues our commitment to growing our USTA Junior Team Tennis and Program, we have some new and exciting changes to the upcoming 2012-13 indoor season.
WRC has had more than 15 Jr USTA tennis teams playing over the last two years. We have won four Championships, been eligible for the State Tournament four times and clinched one State Tournament victory. We are very proud of these teams accomplishments.
To build upon the recent success of our junior teams, we have committed to making our Junior Team practice programs and playing opportunities even better.
The main change will be players who roster for a team will be required to enroll in a weekly team practice program. The coaching ratio will be 1 teaching professional for every 6 players. Practices will be 1 or 1.5 hours depending on age/level. Roster space will be limited to a first come, first serve basis (between 8-12 players per practice).
- Work on more real game strategies /tactics
- Build camaraderie with other teammates
- Practice with different partners to find a partner you work best with
- Practice Singles AND Doubles
- Gain experience to get ready for team matches
- Learn to have fun when competing!
In addition to changes in the practice program, we have exciting changes to Friday Night Match play. We will be providing pizza each week for all of the players. Points will be awarded on a sliding scale and displayed ladder style in the lobby, based on participation, punctuality, sportsmanship and results. This program has limited space, so make sure to sign up right away!
To reserve your placement please download and send the attached form along with a $50.00 deposit to WRC as soon as possible.
