Rob Rios is a USPTA P-1 certified pro since 1990, and most recently the Director of Tennis at Sterling Farms Tennis Center in Stamford CT (since 1999).
Rob is a former Nationally Ranked USTA singles player, with a career high ranking of No. 5, finishing at No. 12 in the men's 40's division in 2005. Rob coached the NCAA Division l Men's and Women's college teams at the University of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (the Mustangs) from 1995-1998. The Men's team was ranked as high as No. 46 in the country during his time there, and the Women's team had a winning record, beating UC Santa Barbara, ranked No. 37 in the Nation at the time.
Rob earned his Master's Degree in Education from the University of Connecticut in 1995. While at UCONN he had the opportunity to intern at the USTA National Player Development Headquarters where he worked alongside the USTA National coaches, helping train players, one of which was American tennis great Lindsay Davenport.
Rob also served as the Director of Tennis at the Saratoga Racquet & Fitness Center for eight years where he coached the area's best juniors, sending dozens on to play college tennis and several, to become teaching pros themselves.
Rob is a dedicated tennis professional who loves to watch his students have fun and take their game to the next level, whether they are just beginning or are competing at the highest competitive levels.
